Sri Varahaswami Temple  

Sri Varahaswami Temple (Third incarnation of Vishnu :Varaha)is situated to north of Lord Venkateshwara Temple in Tirumala which is located on the banks of Swami Pushkarini.

According to the Legend, Tirumala Hills was initially Adi Varaha Kshetra (the house of Sri Adi Varaha Swami), and it was with his authorization that Lord ri Venkateswara took up property here.

According to the Brahma Puranas, before viewing Lord Venkateswara Temple pilgrims should first provide neivedyam to Sri Adi Varaha Swamiand then visit the Temple.

The Varaha avatara is worshipped in three forms according to Atri Samhita

1. Aadi Varaha (First Varaha)
2. Pralaaya Varaha
3. Yajna Varaha

The idol of Sri Varahaswami in Tirumala is that of Adi Varaha, as it resembles the description of the Adi Varaha statue in Vaikhanasa Agama texts.
